LudoBuddy Lite ("the game") is an offline board game with Ludo and Snakes & Ladders. This policy explains what information the game and the services built into it handle, why, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read by players and parents, so it is in plain language.
The short version
- You do not create an account with us, and we do not ask for your email, phone number, address, date of birth or contacts.
- Your progress (name you type in the game, avatar, gems, stats, badges, items) is saved on your phone. If you sign in with Google Play Games, a copy is also saved in your own Google Play Games cloud save so you can move it to a new phone.
- The game shows ads from Google AdMob and sells items through Google Play. These Google services collect some device information to work, as described below.
- The game uses Google Firebase to send us crash reports, and, for players aged 13 and over, usage statistics (for example which screens are opened and how matches end) and optional notifications. These never include your name or the advertising ID and are never used for ads. See section 5.
- Children: the game is meant for players aged 13 and over. It asks for the player's age once, on first launch. A player who says they are under 13 gets only non-personalized, child-appropriate ads, no usage statistics, no notifications and no Play Games sign-in. See "Children".
- We do not sell your personal information.
1. Information the game keeps on your device
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| The player name you type (up to 16 characters) and the avatar you pick | Shown on your profile and the game board |
| Game progress: level, gems, wins, losses, statistics, badges, missions, daily reward streak, owned boards, dice and avatars, a paused game | So you can continue playing |
| Settings: sound, music, vibration, game speed | To remember your choices |
| The age given on first launch, and the date it was given | To choose child-appropriate ads and turn off Play Games for children |
| Purchase records (which item, a transaction id) | To give you what you bought and restore Remove Ads |
| Ad counters (how many reward videos watched today, when the last ad showed) | To limit how often ads appear |
This information stays in the game's private storage on your phone. We (AZK Studios) do not receive it. Uninstalling the game deletes it. You can also delete it at any time from Settings → Delete my data in the game, which also deletes your Play Games cloud save if you are signed in and resets your ad privacy choices.
2. Google Play Games (optional)
If you choose to sign in with Google Play Games, Google provides:
- Sign-in using your Play Games profile (your gamer name and avatar). The game shows your Play Games name on your profile.
- Cloud save: a copy of your game progress (the list in section 1, without settings, ad counters, the age or a paused match) is stored in your Google account's Play Games saved games.
- Achievements: badges you earn unlock matching Play Games achievements.
This data is held by Google under the Google Privacy Policy. You can delete the cloud save from Settings → Delete my data while signed in, or from the Play Games app or your Google account. Signing in is never required to play, and it is not offered to players under 13.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game shows a banner along the bottom of the Home screen and of the Ludo match screen, in a separate strip marked "Advertisement"; a full-screen ad after some matches, when a match has ended and before the results are shown (never when the game opens, during a match, or right after you tap a button in the game); and reward videos that you choose to watch. Ads are provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the AdMob software in the game collects:
- device identifiers such as the advertising ID and app set ID;
- your IP address, which may be used to estimate your general location (country or city);
- information about ad interactions (which ads were shown or tapped) and app activity (app launches, taps);
- diagnostic information (crashes, performance).
This information is collected and processed by Google, which may share it with advertising partners as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Your choices
- Europe (EEA), UK and Switzerland: when you first open the game, you are asked whether ads may be personalized. You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy choices.
- United States: where state privacy laws give you the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information or targeted advertising, you can opt out in Settings → Privacy choices. The game also respects these choices through Google's consent tools.
- Everywhere: you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalization, in your phone's settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
Buying Remove Ads turns off the banners and the full-screen ads. Reward videos stay available because you only see them when you choose to.
4. Purchases (Google Play)
Gems and Remove Ads are sold through Google Play's billing system. Google processes your payment; we never see your card or payment details. Google tells the game which item you bought and gives it a transaction id so the item can be delivered and restored. Gems are virtual items for use inside the game only. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.
5. Google Firebase: remote settings, crash reports, usage statistics and notifications
The game uses four services from Google Firebase. Google processes this information for us, as our service provider, under the Firebase data processing terms and the Google Privacy Policy. Firebase gives the copy of the game on your phone a random installation identifier. It is not your name, your Google account or the advertising ID, and it changes if you reinstall the game or delete your data.
Remote settings (Firebase Remote Config). The game downloads small settings, for example how often ads may appear or whether a newer version is available. The installation identifier is used only to deliver these settings.
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics). When the game crashes or hits an unexpected error, it sends a report so we can find and fix the problem. A report contains: what went wrong in the game's code (the stack trace), the phone model, Android version, app version, free memory and storage, screen orientation, the time, the names of the last screens opened, and the installation identifier. Crash reports are sent for every player, including children, because they hold no information about the person playing and are used only to keep the game working.
Usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase), only for players 13 and over. To learn what players enjoy and where the game needs improving, it records:
| What | Examples |
|---|---|
| Screens opened | Home, Shop, Settings, a match |
| Finished matches | which game and mode, number of players and computers, computer level, your place, whether you won, how long it took |
| Progress | reaching a new level |
| Events Google records by itself | first time the game is opened, sessions and their length, app updates, purchases made through Google Play (item and price), ads shown by AdMob |
| Device and app | phone model, Android version, language, screen size, app version |
| Age group | "13 to 15" or "16 and over" (not the age itself) |
| General location | country or region, estimated by Google from the IP address (the IP address itself is not stored) |
Usage statistics do not collect the advertising ID, the Android ID, your player name, your email or anything you type. They are not used for advertising or ad personalization, and they are not linked to Google Ads or Google signals.
Your choices for usage statistics:
- They are never collected for players under 13, or before the age question is answered.
- Europe (EEA), UK and Switzerland: usage statistics use the installation identifier only if you agree in the consent form shown when the game first opens (purposes "Store and/or access information on a device" and "Measure content performance"). Without that agreement Google receives only basic signals without any identifier. You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy choices.
- Everywhere: Settings → Delete my data stops usage statistics, deletes the analytics data kept on your phone and gives the game a new identifier.
Notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging), only for players 13 and over. The game can receive occasional notifications from us about game news, events and rewards. To deliver them, Firebase gives the copy of the game on your phone a random registration token, which Google uses only to deliver our messages. The notifications are the same for every player: we do not see who you are and we do not use them for ads.
- They are never set up for players under 13, or before the age question is answered: no token is created.
- On Android 13 and newer, your phone asks whether to allow notifications, once, after your first finished match. You can say no.
- You can turn them off at any time in Settings → Notifications (this deletes the token) or in your phone's settings. Settings → Delete my data deletes the token too.
6. Information we (AZK Studios) receive
We do not run our own servers for this game and we do not receive your game progress, name or the advertising ID. In Google's consoles we see only reports that do not name you: overall download numbers, aggregated ad and purchase revenue, the crash reports and the usage statistics described in section 5. We use them only to fix and improve the game, and we never try to work out who a player is from them. If you email us, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply.
7. Children
LudoBuddy Lite is intended for players aged 13 and over. When the game first opens, it asks how old the player is, with every age offered alike. Until the question is answered, no ads are requested and Play Games does not start. The answer is kept only on the phone and cannot be changed later, except by deleting the game's data.
If the player is under 13:
- the game requests only non-personalized ads rated for general audiences ("G"), with Google's child-directed and under-age-of-consent settings turned on, so no advertising ID is used for ad targeting;
- Play Games is not started and sign-in is not offered;
- usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase) are switched off;
- notifications are switched off: no registration token is created and the phone never asks;
- crash reports are still sent, because they contain only technical details of the crash and the random installation identifier, nothing about the child, and are used only to keep the game working (see section 5);
- nothing the child types (the player name) leaves the phone.
If the player is 13 to 15, ads are requested as for a user under the age of consent, which means they are not personalized.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child's information was collected, contact us at itsazkstudios@gmail.com and we will delete it.
8. How long information is kept
- Information on your phone is kept until you delete it in the game or uninstall the game.
- Cloud save data is kept in your Google account until you delete it.
- Emails you send us are deleted within 12 months of the conversation ending.
- Crash reports are kept by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days.
- Usage statistics are kept by Google Analytics for 14 months, then deleted.
- A notification registration token is kept until notifications are turned off, your data is deleted, or the game is uninstalled; Firebase also removes tokens unused for 270 days.
- Data collected by Google services is kept according to Google's own retention policies.
How to delete your data
AZK Studios does not hold an account or a copy of your game data, so deleting it is done in the game or through Google:
- In the game: open Settings → Delete my data and confirm. This erases everything the game keeps on your phone (section 1), deletes your Play Games cloud save if you are signed in, deletes the notification token, deletes the usage statistics kept on your phone, resets your ad privacy choices and gives the game a new random identifier.
- Without the game: uninstalling the game erases the data on your phone. You can delete a Play Games cloud save in the Google Play Games app or in your Google account.
- By email: write to itsazkstudios@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my data". We will delete our email conversation with you within 30 days and tell you when it is done. We have no other personal data about you to delete.
What is kept after you delete: nothing on our side. Crash reports and usage statistics already held by Google Firebase, and ad data held by Google AdMob, cannot be linked to you by us and are deleted by Google on its own schedule (crash reports after 90 days, usage statistics after 14 months). Google Play keeps the record of your purchases under Google's rules; ask Google Play if you need that changed.
9. Security
Game data on your phone is stored in the game's private app storage, which other apps cannot read. Google's services send data over encrypted connections (HTTPS). We keep the number of people with access to our developer accounts to a minimum and protect them with two-step verification.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe, the UK GDPR, or US state laws such as California's CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict its use, and to opt out of targeted advertising. Because we do not hold your data ourselves, the fastest way is usually:
- delete your game data in Settings → Delete my data or by uninstalling;
- manage ads and usage statistics choices in Settings → Privacy choices and in your phone's settings;
- manage Google data at myaccount.google.com.
You can also email us at itsazkstudios@gmail.com, or use Settings → Contact us in the game. We will answer within 30 days. You will not be treated differently for using these rights.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and, for important changes, tell you in the game.
